Tragedy in Spain: number of forest fire victims rises to 12

At least 12 people have become victims of a forest fire in the Spanish province of Almeria.

RTVE television and radio company reports this.

The bodies were found in a settlement in the municipality of Bedar, some of them inside cars engulfed in flames. Acting Minister for Emergency Situations of Andalusia Antonio Sanz called the fire the most destructive in the region to date. The fire danger level has been raised to the second.

According to the TV channel, about 150 people were involved in extinguishing the fire, and about a thousand residents were evacuated. It is clarified that the 112 service processed more than 150 calls from eyewitnesses who reported that the cause of the ignition was a fallen power line.
