Iran's foreign ministry: crisis has arisen in implementation of memorandum with US
Official representative of Iran's Foreign Ministry Ismail Bagai described the state of the memorandum with the US on the cessation of hostilities as critical.
"In that the (memorandum - ed.) is in a crisis state, there is no doubt," he said during the briefing.
Bagai noted that as long as the US continues to violate the memorandum, Iran will also not follow its obligations, and stated that in this case the principle of fulfilling obligations in response to the fulfillment of obligations by the opposite side is in effect.
US military forces since July 8 have carried out several series of attacks on Iran. The US Central Command claimed that this was done allegedly in response to Iran's actions against commercial vessels that were crossing the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian military forces responded with strikes on US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan.
Tehran also accused Washington of violating the memorandum on the cessation of hostilities signed in mid-June. US President Donald Trump on July 9 stated that the ceasefire no longer applies.
