Britain declares IRGC a terrorist organization

Britain has declared the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the armed forces) of Iran a terrorist organization, Sky News reports citing a statement by Deputy Foreign Minister Angela Eagle.

On Wednesday, a British bill to combat state structures "hostile" to London came into force. The State Threats bill gave the government new powers allowing it to designate foreign state structures as terrorist organizations.

"The government has announced that it is using its new powers to add Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to the list of terrorists," the channel reports.
