Jackie Chan to visit Azerbaijan soon - photo - video
72-year-old legendary actor and martial arts master Jackie Chan will visit Azerbaijan as part of filming the new film “Armour of God 4: Ultimatum” (the next film in the famous movie franchise “Armour of God”).
This is reported by the specialized publication City on Fire, dedicated to Asian cinema.
According to the publication, filming of the fourth part of the cult franchise is taking place in two countries at once - Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. In the film, Jackie Chan will once again play the role of the adventurer nicknamed Asian Hawk, who will be drawn into the search for the ancient artifact “Tumar”, for which a reward of more than 20 million dollars has been assigned.
As City on Fire notes, the film crew is currently working in Kazakhstan. After completing this stage, production will continue in Azerbaijan. Specific dates for the team’s move are not named, however, according to a number of Azerbaijani media, Jackie Chan’s visit to Baku is tentatively expected in early August.
The director of the film is Kazakhstani director Robert Kun.
The authoritative American publication Variety has also previously reported on the project. Recall that filming in Azerbaijan will take place with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Film Agency (ARKA), and the world premiere of the film is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
It should be emphasized that Azerbaijani media have also previously reported that during his stay in Baku, Jackie Chan may spend about ten days. Possible filming locations mentioned included Icherisheher, Highland Park, the Baku Funicular, the Green Theater, Fountain Square, and a number of central streets of the capital - however, no one has officially confirmed this information yet.
