Iran allows negotiations with US after achieving strategic advantage
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi believes that his country can end its military confrontation with the US and move to a negotiated settlement of the conflict once it gains an advantage on the battlefield.
"Ending the war is possible either through absolute military victory or through negotiations. The right time for negotiations is exactly the moment when you have achieved reliable field and strategic gains on the military front," Arakchi said in an interview with the IRNA agency, quoted by the Al Jazeera channel.
According to the publication, the foreign minister stated that Iran will end its military confrontation with the US when it has an "advantage on the battlefield."
According to the minister, determining the moment to cease hostilities and begin negotiations is the most important.
"You cannot risk people's lives and the fate of the country. Decisions must be made based on accurate and complete calculations," Arakchi added.
Earlier on Monday, US armed forces completed the ninth night series of strikes on Iran.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US remains open to a diplomatic settlement of the conflict with Iran.
