Armenia expands defense cooperation with the US to diversify suppliers.

This was stated by Armenian Ambassador to Washington Narek Mkrtchyan in an interview with Axios.

According to him, Yerevan is pursuing a policy of diversification, seeking to reduce dependence on a single supplier. Today Armenia receives various technologies from more than seven countries, including the US, the diplomat said.

He added that diversification is also being carried out to expand energy sources and the client base in the field of artificial intelligence.

"We are making our sovereignty more sustainable. We are trying to make Armenia more independent," Mkrtchyan said.

In May, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan signed an agreement on critical minerals and rare earth metals.
According to the secretary of state, the memorandum will help further strengthen the mutual prosperity of the US and Armenia. Rubio added that Washington and Yerevan will be able to work together to ensure that the economies of both countries have reliable access to critical minerals.

Earlier, Armenia and the US signed an agreement on the "Trump Route" project.
