On August 3, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia, Tiina Nirk.

This is stated in a report published on the official website of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, Ambassador Tiina Nirk presented copies of her credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. Congratulating the ambassador on her appointment, the minister wished her success in her diplomatic activities in Azerbaijan.

The meeting discussed the prospects for developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia in the political, economic, trade, and transportation spheres, as well as in the fields of digitalization, education, and other areas. Estonia's decision to establish an embassy in Azerbaijan was welcomed with satisfaction, and confidence was expressed that this step would contribute to the further development of bilateral relations, the intensification of political dialogue, and the strengthening of the institutional foundations of cooperation.

The sides emphasized the importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia in terms of expanding mutual economic ties, noting that holding the next meeting of the commission would give impetus to the development of cooperation in new areas. The importance of expanding cooperation in the field of education, academic exchange programs, and ties between higher education institutions was also emphasized.

Ambassador Tiina Nirk noted that her country attaches great importance to developing relations with Azerbaijan and stated that she would make every effort to further expand bilateral cooperation in all areas.

During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
