Hikmet Hajiyev: The signals being received show that a process of renewing the constitution is beginning in Armenia - VIDEO
The article providing for territorial claims against Azerbaijan, as well as against Turkey, must be removed from Armenia's Constitution, said Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev.
"The signals being received in this regard show that a process of adopting a new constitution is beginning in Armenia, and there may possibly be a nationwide referendum," he told the Turkish television channel Haber Global.
He noted that once these territorial claims are removed from the preamble of the constitution, Azerbaijan sees no problems for signing a peace treaty. At the same time, Hikmet Hajiyev emphasized that peace has already been established de facto in the region.
