Azerbaijani TikToker sentenced to 10 years and 3 months in prison

The criminal trial of TikToker Aybeniz Khalilova, known by the pseudonym "Beniz," who was accused of extorting money through threats, has concluded.

As "Unikal" reports, at the hearing chaired by Judge Fakhri Mammadov of the Baku Court on Grave Crimes, the TikToker's lawyers delivered their defense statements.

Then the TikToker delivered her final statement. She declared that she was innocent and that the charges brought against her were unfounded.

After deliberation, the court announced the verdict.

According to the court's decision, the TikToker "Beniz" was sentenced to 10 years and 3 months in prison.

Recall that at the previous hearing, state prosecutor Babakhan Hasanaliyev asked the court to sentence Aybeniz Khalilova to 11 years in prison.

It is noted that the TikToker was charged under Articles 182.3.2 (extortion through threats committed with the aim of obtaining a large sum of money) and 221.3 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

In his statement, the victim indicated that Aybeniz Khalilova had demanded money from him in installments, totaling 836,000 manats.

It is also reported that the victim and the TikToker had been in a romantic relationship for a long time.

During the court investigation, the victim stated that he no longer had any claims against the TikToker.
