Charter of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the U.S. discussed in Washington

Azerbaijan and the United States discussed the prospects for developing their strategic partnership.

This was stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

It is reported that on August 10, as part of a visit to the United States of America, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov held a meeting with the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs of the United States, Andrew Stowe.

"During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, and the importance of further expanding the partnership between the two countries across a wide range of areas was emphasized.

The focus of the participants' discussions was, in particular, on issues concerning the implementation of the Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America, as well as the results of the Baku Economic Dialogue.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest and confirmed their readiness to continue close cooperation and to hold consultations on matters serving the advancement of peace, security, and prosperity," the statement says.
