Ambassador: Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with the U.S. in the field of demining
Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with the United States in the field of demining and hopes to use American technologies to solve the problem of mine contamination.
This was stated by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the United States Hazar Ibrahim in an interview with Axios.
According to him, Azerbaijan is one of the most mine-contaminated countries in the world per capita. Ibrahim noted that modern technological advances can help speed up demining and make it more effective.
"We hope that we will be able to work with the U.S. on this issue as well," the ambassador said.
He emphasized that one of the key aspects of demining is the availability of accurate maps of mine locations. At the same time, clearing territories of mines remains a costly, lengthy, and dangerous process.
Hazar Ibrahim added that cooperation with the current White House administration is effective — "the agreements reached quickly move to practical implementation."
