World media widely covered President Ilham Aliyev's statements made in Nakhchivan

The statements made by President Ilham Aliyev in an interview with Azerbaijani Television during his trip to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were widely covered by media organizations of various countries.

As AZERTAC reports, Russian media outlets, including Kommersant, Interfax, Vestnik Kavkaza and NEWS.ru, brought the main points of the interview with the head of our state to the attention of their readers.

Kommersant focused on Azerbaijan's intention to supply the European market not only with oil and gas, but also with electricity. The publication quotes President Ilham Aliyev's words: "In our region, apart from us, there is no other country that would be provided with such a volume of energy resources, be it oil and gas or electricity. By expanding our export opportunities to neighboring countries, we will also enter the European market."

Interfax, for its part, paid special attention to information about the expansion of energy exports, electricity supplies to Europe via the territories of Georgia and Turkey, the Black Sea Energy project, as well as the increase in the capacity of solar power plants in Nakhchivan. In the material, the agency also cites President Ilham Aliyev's statements regarding the TRIPP project.

The agency published information about the start of practical work on the Zangezur corridor, the current condition of the Horadiz-Aghband highway, plans to extend the railway to the border with Armenia in 2027, as well as the fact that the throughput capacity of this route will amount to 15 million tons of cargo per year. It was noted that the reconstruction of the Nakhchivan railway is envisaged, bringing its total length to 194.2 kilometers, as well as the reconstruction of 10 stations.

The publication Vestnik Kavkaza particularly highlighted the quotes on the development of Karabakh, East Zangezur and Nakhchivan on the basis of a single concept, as well as on the transport opportunities of the Zangezur corridor.

The portal NEWS.ru published President Ilham Aliyev's statement on the readiness of the project to lay power transmission lines from the main part of Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan via the territory of Armenia.

The Georgian news portals Interpressnews.ge, 1TV.ge and BPN.ge also widely covered President Ilham Aliyev's remarks.

The website 1TV.ge conveyed to readers the statements of the head of our state on the significance for Armenia of the trilateral statement signed between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. At the same time, attention was paid to the assessment of this document as an act of capitulation for Armenia.

The news item of the portal Interpressnews.ge notes that Azerbaijan intends to export electricity to the European market, with the main route passing through the territories of Georgia and Turkey. A feasibility study for the Black Sea energy cable project has also been prepared. In addition, the website separately published President Ilham Aliyev's views that Armenia's outdated nuclear power plant is a source of threat to the entire region and that its operation must sooner or later be terminated, as well as on the creation of infrastructure for the transmission of electricity on the territory of Armenia within the framework of the TRIPP project.

The portal quotes the words of the head of state that this route is today the only way: "By expanding our export opportunities to neighboring countries, we will also enter the European market. Because we have now entered the European market with our oil and gas. But we want to enter it with electricity as well."

The website Ambebi.ge also presented to readers President Ilham Aliyev's view that the Armenian nuclear power plant is outdated, the threat it creates for the region, and the energy crisis that will arise after the closure of this plant.

The Anadolu agency and the portals Haberler.com, Doğruhaber and Yeni Akit devoted extensive space in their news items to President Ilham Aliyev's remarks on the opening of the Zangezur corridor, the beginning of the implementation of the TRIPP project, the corridor's cargo throughput potential of no less than 15 million tons per year, as well as on the fact that in addition to transport communication it may encompass fiber-optic lines, power transmission lines, and in the future oil and gas pipelines.

The publications Yozgat, Türkgün, YeniBirlik, SonDakika.com and Saraymedya focused on the readiness of the project to lay power transmission lines to Nakhchivan via the territory of Armenia, the construction of a large substation in Jabrayil, and the energy component of the Zangezur corridor.

Ankara NetHaber emphasized that the energy corridor will run through the territory of Armenia to Nakhchivan, and from there to Turkey and Europe, which may create an alternative source of energy for official Yerevan.

The newspaper Yeni Akit conveyed to readers the thoughts on the threat created by Armenia's nuclear power plant, while the portal Fikirturu.com covered the significance of transport, energy and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the countries of Central Asia in the "C5+1" format.

TRHaber, covering the Joint Statement of the United States, Azerbaijan and Armenia on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Washington summit, noted that the document focuses on the progress achieved after last year's meeting, and also expresses determination to strengthen trust and advance the South Caucasus toward a prosperous future.
