Disney announces "Zootopia 3" after the triumph of the second installment
The Disney studio has officially announced the start of work on the third installment of the animated film "Zootopia" and unveiled its logo.
As Oxu.Az reports citing Variety, the announcement was made at the D23 fan event. The decision to continue the franchise is tied to the phenomenal success of the second installment, which grossed $1.8 billion at the global box office and became the highest-grossing project in Disney's history.
The first "Zootopia" was released in 2016 and introduced viewers to police officer Judy Hopps and the fox Nick Wilde. The second installment, from 2025, continues the story of their partnership and the investigation into the case of missing reptiles, featuring the snake Gary. In the third film, Ginnifer Goodwin and Ke Huy Quan will return to their roles, and the plot will focus on the appearance of birds in the city. The premiere date has not yet been disclosed.
