A conference on Belgian colonialism will be held in Baku
An international conference on the topic "The injustice of Belgian colonialism and 101 years of struggle for reparations" will be held in Baku at the initiative of the Baku Initiative Group.
As APA reports, the event will be attended by officials from Belgium's former colonies — the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, and Burundi, where, as noted, this country still maintains neocolonial influence — as well as representatives of Morocco, the Republic of South Africa, and the UN.
Among the guests are the ombudsman of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, members of the Congolese parliament, Rwanda's ambassador to Turkey and diplomats, as well as UN experts.
The conference will also be attended by experts in international law, the restoration of historical justice, and reparations issues, researchers, human rights defenders, and others.
