Pashinyan: The new program of Armenia's cabinet has no logic of the "Karabakh movement"
The new government program has no logic of the "Karabakh movement."
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a government session, presenting the cabinet's program for 2026-2031.
"Practically all political figures of Armenia of the middle and older generations and many in the younger generation are connected with the ideology of the Karabakh movement. This also applied to representatives of the authorities. Nevertheless, in the past years the government decided to 'read anew the pages that had remained closed for many years.' Their rethinking led to the formation of the agenda of peace and real Armenia," he said.
According to Pashinyan, the corresponding message also came from the Armenian public.
Under the conditions of the peace agenda, he added, the government will move from crisis management to ordinary management, will pay more attention to strengthening human rights, economic diplomacy (in connection with this, the Foreign Ministry will be renamed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade), issues related to the spread of artificial intelligence, and health care problems.
The concluding part of the program notes that, given the depth of the changes in the state ideology, a transition from the Third Republic to the Fourth can be declared.
After approval by the government, the program for 2026-2031 will be sent to parliament for approval.
