XXII International Caucasus Festival of Dance and Music concludes in Turkey

A gala concert and closing ceremony of the XXII International Caucasus Festival of Dance and Music were held in the Turkish city of Yalova.

As 1news.az reports, at the festival, organized under the motto "For the sake of peace in the Caucasus and throughout the world," Azerbaijan was represented by the Lezgin folk song and dance ensemble "Suvar."

The gala concert began with the dance "Odlar Yurdu" (Land of Fire) performed by the "Suvar" ensemble. The performance of the song "Azerbaijan" by the ensemble's vocalist Javahir Abdulova lent the event a special flavor.

Recall that as part of the festival, the Azerbaijani delegation performed a concert program in the province of Balıkesir on August 20.

Before the concert, our representatives visited the village of Ortaca in Balıkesir, where Lezgins live compactly. During the meeting with the village residents, information was provided about the history of Ortaca, as well as the customs, traditions, and cultural heritage of the Lezgin families living there.

Let us note that the festival, organized with the aim of preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Caucasian peoples, strengthening friendly relations between peoples, and promoting the development of intercultural dialogue, was attended, along with Azerbaijan, by more than 350 artists from Adygea, Dagestan, Georgia, Kabardino-Balkaria, and North Ossetia.
