Azerbaijani weightlifter Musab Mammadtaghiyev becomes European champion - PHOTO

Azerbaijani weightlifter Musab Mammadtaghiyev won three gold medals at the U-15 European Championship in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo.

According to 1news.az, the athlete outperformed all of his rivals in both the snatch and the clean and jerk.

Competing in the 70 kg weight category, M. Mammadtaghiyev lifted 124 kg in the snatch and 145 kg in the clean and jerk.

Thus, the weightlifter took gold medals in the two exercises, as well as in the overall standings of the European Championship with a total result of 269 kg.

Note that the gap with the second-place finisher, Hayk Movsisyan, amounted to 17 kg in total.
