President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Sabah football club on reaching the main stage of the UEFA Champions League.
This was stated in a post on the President's page on the social network "X," 1news.az reports.
"I sincerely congratulate the Sabah football club on winning a magnificent victory and earning a place in the main stage of the UEFA Champions League. The fact that a recently established team has achieved such a major accomplishment in such a short time brings particular joy and a sense of pride. The right of our clubs to compete for the second time in a row in the main stage of the world's strongest club tournament is yet another clear indicator of the progress achieved by Azerbaijan in all spheres and of our country's status as a sporting state.
I wish the Sabah club new victories and successes in the upcoming matches!" the post notes.
