Goranboy Executive Power: No residential buildings damaged in ammunition depot explosion and fire - UPDATED

No residential buildings were damaged as a result of the explosion followed by a fire at an ammunition depot in Goranboy.

As reported by 1news.az with reference to APA, Seymour Nazarov, First Deputy Head of the Executive Power of Goranboy District and Chairman of the District Emergency Situations Commission, informed journalists about this.

The commission chairman noted that coordinated efforts were promptly initiated by the relevant agencies to relocate and evacuate residents from nearby areas to ensure their safety.

Relevant forces from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense, in coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Executive Power of Goranboy District, immediately took all necessary and urgent measures, bringing the situation under control:

“Fortunately, no casualties, severe consequences, or serious losses were recorded. The population is currently completely safe. Specialized agencies are currently working together to extinguish the fire. No damage to residents' homes has been reported.”

During the night, residents of the villages of Nizami and Khoylu were evacuated in the Goranboy district following a fire at an ammunition depot.

According to the data provided, the total number of evacuees is 5,000 people.

It is noted that a checkpoint has been set up at the entrance to the village of Nizami.
