Azerbaijan and NATO are discussing the possibility of implementing new joint projects in the field of mine action, including support for ANAMA initiatives, data sharing, and the exchange of expertise.

As Report informs, this was stated by Eirini Lemos-Mania, Head of NATO's Arms Control, Disarmament and Weapons of Mass Destruction Non-Proliferation Section, at the IV International Conference on Mine Action in Baku.

According to her, Azerbaijan is an important partner of the North Atlantic Alliance, and cooperation between the parties is deep and long-term in nature.

"We are holding discussions with the relevant community in the field of mine action, with ANAMA as an organization playing a leading role in this area, as well as with allies and partners. We are considering opportunities for additional support for your activities and other initiatives," Lemos-Mania said.

The NATO representative emphasized the importance of sharing data, information, knowledge, and practical experience in the field of demining.

According to Lemos-Mania, increasing attention is being paid to the transfer of expertise and strengthening the capacity of partner countries.
