Presidential aide: Azerbaijan will continue efforts to establish lasting peace in the region
Armenia and Azerbaijan have entered a period of peace.
In August, we marked the first anniversary of the initialing of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
As AZERTAC reports, this was stated by Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev during his speech at the extensively renovated Culture Center in the city of Khankendi.
We are learning to live in conditions of peace and are moving forward in this direction, H. Hajiyev emphasized.
“As President Ilham Aliyev noted, for Azerbaijan the conflict is over. We have realized that living in the realities of peace is a wonderful feeling. Azerbaijan will continue its efforts to establish and further strengthen sustainable peace in our region. Peace also begins with restoration and reconstruction efforts on the ground. Because peace is not simply the absence of confrontation. Peace means building trust, restoration and reconstruction,” the Assistant to the President added.
