Pezeshkian: The Strait of Hormuz will open if…
Iran will resume free movement of vessels in the Strait of Hormuz only when the United States lifts the blockade of Iranian ports and halts attacks on the Islamic Republic, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian said.
"The passage through the strait will be open on the condition that the United States abandons the siege and aggression against Iran," ISNA quoted the Iranian president as saying.
According to Pezeshkian, Washington failed to achieve its goals by military means, after which it resorted precisely to the blockade.
"We will not stop. The sea route is not of vital importance to us; let them not think that with these actions they will be able to force us to surrender," Masoud Pezeshkian added.
