U.S. assesses situation in the South Caucasus as developing in the right direction
The United States assesses the current situation in the South Caucasus as developing in the right direction and intends to continue promoting the establishment of lasting peace in the region.
U.S. Chargé d'Affaires ad interim in Azerbaijan Amy Carlon, who is visiting the Karabakh region as part of a delegation of the foreign diplomatic corps, said this to a Report correspondent in Karabakh.
According to her, the United States notes the significant progress achieved following the meeting of President Donald Trump with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Washington on August 8, 2025.
"We are really pleased with the progress achieved during this time. That is why we assess the situation in the South Caucasus as unequivocally developing in the right direction," Carlon said.
She emphasized that the United States is committed to promoting the establishment of lasting peace in the region, including through projects aimed at ensuring prosperity.
