U.S. Embassy shares post about Amy Carlon's trip to Khankendi and Shusha - PHOTO
U.S. Chargé d'Affaires ad interim in Azerbaijan Amy Carlon took part in a trip to Khankendi and Shusha organized by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for heads of diplomatic missions.
According to the press service of the U.S. Embassy, during the visit, representatives of the diplomatic corps familiarized themselves with the region's cultural heritage, as well as its economic development and the infrastructure projects being implemented there.
In Khankendi, the diplomats visited the railway and bus complex, the cultural center, Victory Park, Khankendi Stadium, Karabakh University and a local garment factory.
In Shusha, they toured a number of important sites, including the new Shusha Mosque, the Ashagy Govhar Agha Mosque, the city's central square, the Shusha Creativity Center and the historic walls of the Shusha Fortress.
The embassy noted that the trip demonstrated how peace and cooperation can open new opportunities for regional connectivity, trade, investment and prosperity for Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus.
