Arrindell voiced support for the right of Western Azerbaijanis to return
Rhoda Arrindell, a lecturer at Howard University in the United States and president of the One St. Martin Association, expressed support for the right of Western Azerbaijanis to return to their native lands.
As Report informs, citing the Baku Initiative Group, she made the statement at a conference organized by the group.
Arrindell emphasized that all those affected must be able to freely exercise their rights without obstacles or coercion. "We recognize the right of Western Azerbaijanis to return to their native lands," she said.
According to Arrindell, the right of return is relevant not only for Western Azerbaijanis, but also for people who have been forced to leave their native places in various regions of the world.
She noted that the One St. Martin Association is ready to support the protection of the rights of such people and to cooperate with international partners to facilitate their return to their homeland.
"The conferences organized by the Baku Initiative Group create opportunities to draw the attention of the international community to the problems faced by various peoples and to voice positions on the issue of the right of return," Arrindell said.
The One St. Martin Association is a public organization advocating for the decolonization, sovereignty, and independence of the island of St. Martin.
