What will change for internet users from October 1?
Information has spread in Azerbaijan about a possible increase in the cost of internet services.
According to the reports, from October 1 all fixed internet tariffs in the country will be converted to a single tariff — no less than 25 manats.
It is noted that the decision was made as part of the policy of unifying tariffs on the market.
However, as the editorial office has learned, this is not about an increase in the cost of the internet, but about the cancellation of discounts provided to subscribers.
According to the source, some providers offered discounts to certain categories of subscribers, in particular residents of new buildings. Thanks to this, the monthly fee for the internet for them amounted to 18 manats or even less.
"That is, a certain provider may have subscribers who are given a discount. For example, in order to obtain the opportunity to provide internet to the residents of a particular building, the provider set a preferential fee for them — 18 manats per month. Now these discounts are being canceled. There is no talk of any price increase, since in fact today the monthly cost of the internet is 25 manats," he noted.
