Hikmet Hajiyev: Azerbaijan faces disinformation from international structures even after achieving peace
Even after achieving peace, Azerbaijan faces disinformation from international structures.
This was stated by the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmet Hajiyev, during his participation in the Arab Media Forum in Dubai, Euronews reports.
"One of such institutions is the European Parliament, which is not part of the solution, it is part of the problem. We are in the process of building regional peace, but the European Parliament pursues a completely different agenda. Its resolutions are aimed at undermining the peace process in our region," he emphasized.
Hikmet Hajiyev noted that some Western media outlets are also involved in anti-Azerbaijani campaigns.
According to him, European policy toward the South Caucasus should not be based solely on a one-sided approach: "It should encompass the entire region through balanced cooperation with all countries of the region."
EU policy should be aimed at building a concept of new partnership rather than erecting dividing lines, he added.
Hikmet Hajiyev stated that Azerbaijan contributes to Europe's energy security, and the Middle Corridor can bring Azerbaijan and the EU even closer together.
