Community: Armenian society must renounce encroachments on the lands and culture of other peoples

The hysteria over the visit of foreign diplomats accredited in Azerbaijan to Karabakh and East Zangezur continues in Armenia.

What is happening once again shows that the Armenian people are not ready for peace. Instead of preparing society for peace and promoting the concept of "Real Armenia," the Armenian authorities themselves are steering the processes and making unacceptable statements.

This was noted in a statement by the Western Azerbaijan Community.

"Armenia's claims to the cultural heritage belonging to the ancient Azerbaijani people on the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan, and the statement by that country's prime minister about the allegedly Armenian origin of the Ganjasar Monastery, are unacceptable.

Armenian society must renounce encroachments on the lands and culture of other peoples and cease being a hostage to a false history. If Armenia is truly concerned about the preservation of cultural heritage, then it must put an end to the destruction of mosques, historical monuments and cemeteries belonging to the Azerbaijani people, as well as to such acts as the 'restoration' of the Blue Mosque in Irevan, following the example of the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque in Shusha during the period of occupation, and presenting it under the name of another people," the statement emphasizes.
