Ali Naghiyev takes part in the 28th meeting of the Conference of Special Services Bodies of Turkic-Speaking States

A delegation headed by the chief of the State Security Service (SSS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Ali Naghiyev, took part in the 28th meeting of the Conference of Special Services Bodies of Turkic-Speaking States, held in Kazakhstan.

It is noted that in his speech at the event, the chief of the SSS drew attention to new global and regional threats generated by contemporary geopolitical processes, including the severe consequences created by the ongoing large-scale military confrontations for the operation of transport corridors. The recruitment of citizens by various means into military operations as mercenary fighters, as well as the smuggling of weapons, ammunition, and explosives illegally taken out of combat zones, were assessed as a serious threat to the security environment, aggravating the crime situation.

Noting the negative consequences of the ongoing crises in the Middle East, including the blockade of strategic straits, for world trade, energy security, and the global economy, the chief of the Service emphasized that under the existing uncertainty no state can remain aloof from the ongoing processes, as well as the importance of further expanding the exchange of experience and information among partner states with the aim of reliably ensuring national security and approaching the challenges ahead from a unified position.

At the meeting, where an assessment was given of the existing situation in the world and the necessary steps toward ensuring regional security amid contemporary challenges were discussed, a final document covering the relevant issues was signed.
