Istanbul police uncover an underground drug lab in a residential building

Police seized 297 kg of synthetic drugs during an operation in Istanbul's Şişli district.

As 1news.az reports citing TRT Haber, the operation was carried out by officers of the narcotics department of the Istanbul police under the coordination of the Bureau for the Investigation of Smuggling and Drug-Related Crimes of the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office.

During a search of one of the residential premises, 297 kg of synthetic drugs, 520 kg of chemical additives, a mixing machine, drug production equipment and two high-precision scales were found.

Two people were detained on suspicion of producing and illegally trafficking narcotic or psychotropic substances. An investigation has been launched against them.
