Trump says he is ready to meet with Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly
U.S. President Donald Trump has said that he is ready to meet with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the high-level week of the UN General Assembly in New York.
As 1news.az reports, this was stated by journalist Trey Yingst on the Fox News channel.
"I asked the president [of the United States] a question regarding the General Assembly. Iran's leader Masoud Pezeshkian will be present at the event. I inquired whether he (Trump - ed.) would be open to a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, and he replied that he probably would be open to it," the correspondent said.
Earlier it became known that journalists from Pezeshkian's press pool were denied U.S. visas. Prior to that, the U.S. State Department indicated that the corresponding travel documents had been received by Iran's "main delegation."
