Erdogan gave a gold coin to an infant

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during his visit to New York to take part in the UN General Assembly, spoke with citizens who greeted him outside the House of Turkic Culture.

During the meeting, he gave a gold coin to an infant whose parents had waited four hours for the president in the rain.

Noticing the child in the crowd, Erdogan asked for the barrier to be opened and invited the family to come up to him, Anadolu reports.

The president spoke with the infant's parents, who had come from Germany. When the child, frightened by the large gathering of people, began to cry, Erdogan gave him a gold coin and asked the parents not to upset the little one.

The child's father, Muhammet Urker, said that the family had spent four hours in the rain waiting for the president.

He called the meeting with Erdogan an indescribable and very touching moment, which he will tell his son about in the future.

Among those who greeted the Turkish leader was also a doctor of Egyptian origin, Ahmed Abdullah.

He thanked Erdogan for his efforts in the name of humanity and his support for those in need around the world.
