Mohamed Salah stripped of his driver's license
A British court has stripped Trabzonspor and Egypt national team forward Mohamed Salah of his driver's license for six months.
According to the BBC, the proceedings were prompted by speeding in a Rolls-Royce belonging to the soccer player. The violation was recorded on March 27 in Wilmslow, Cheshire: the car was traveling 6 miles per hour (about 10 km/h) above the posted limit.
Salah did not respond to the prosecution's notice, did not tell police who was behind the wheel of the car, and also refused to plead guilty.
In addition to losing his driver's license, the soccer player must pay a fine of 1,044 pounds sterling.
The incident occurred a few days after Salah announced his departure from Liverpool. The 34-year-old player had played for the English club since 2017 and left the team this summer as a free agent.
During his time with Liverpool, Salah twice became champion of England and won a number of other trophies.
