The U.S. wants to create a $10 billion fund for the Middle East

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed allocating $5 billion to create a fund for rebuilding the Middle East's energy infrastructure.

This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.

According to the proposed plan, another $5 billion is to be provided by eight of Washington's regional partners: Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, and Jordan.

Thus, the total volume of the fund could amount to $10 billion. The funds are planned to be directed toward the restoration and development of the region's energy infrastructure.
