Trump: President of Azerbaijan noted the U.S. role in settling the conflict with Armenia
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev noted the role of his American counterpart in settling the conflict between Baku and Yerevan.
Trump said this in New York at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
Trump noted that since taking office he has managed to settle eight conflicts, thanks to which he has established friendly relations with many leaders of those countries.
According to him, most of these conflicts had continued for years and even decades. Trump stated that to achieve a settlement he used personal relations with leaders, trade, tariffs or the threat of imposing them, as well as other instruments — depending on the particular country.
Among such conflicts he named the confrontations between Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, Pakistan and India, as well as Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“The President of Azerbaijan said that it took President Trump six months to work a miracle. It was a real miracle that no one considered possible,” Trump stated.
