64-year-old American actor Tom Cruise broke royal protocol during the London premiere of the black comedy "Digger," attended by the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton.
According to British media, Cruise took Kate Middleton by the hand and helped her down the stairs. After that, the actor kissed the Princess of Wales on both cheeks.
Her husband, Prince William, was standing nearby at the time.
The actor's behavior sparked discussion on social media. According to royal protocol, it is not customary to show physical closeness when meeting members of the British royal family, with the exception of a handshake.
