Milli Majlis announces campaign against Azerbaijani-Turkish relations

The Temporary Commission of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan on Countering Foreign Interference and Hybrid Threats has issued a statement.

As 1news.az reports, the statement says that the commission, within the scope of its powers, has investigated an information campaign against our country that has been waged in recent days from the territory of brotherly Turkey through social media platforms.

As a result of the monitoring carried out, it was established that the goal of this campaign, initiated by certain centers, is not only to undermine the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations of friendship, brotherhood, and alliance, but also to mislead the public, to create distrust among our citizens toward our state and its institutions, and to provoke polarization in society. The campaign is being conducted in a coordinated manner using targeted advertising, as well as real and fake accounts on social networks.

It is noted with a feeling of regret that a number of well-meaning and sincere people in the societies of Azerbaijan and Turkey, who are always faithful to the principle of "one nation, two states," are also lending support to this insidious campaign. At the same time, despite the fact that under the legislation of the Republic of Turkey such activity entails legal liability, the campaign is still continuing.
It is also emphasized that information about the participants in the coordinated information campaign will be submitted to the relevant state structures of Azerbaijan.
The Temporary Commission, in such a sensitive period, calls on our citizens and our brothers in Turkey to be vigilant and not to believe false information.
