Time: Trump consulted with the chatbot Grok before the capture of Maduro
U.S. President Donald Trump discussed plans to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro with Grok, the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot developed by Elon Musk's company xAI.
This was reported by Time magazine, citing sources.
According to the magazine, this happened after a private meeting with Musk in the Oval Office in December 2025. As the magazine writes, the American leader spent several hours asking Grok questions "about his presidency and his legacy." Then he asked the chatbot how Venezuelans would react if the United States captured Maduro. According to Time, Grok wrote that "the residents of Venezuela would most likely be glad."
After the operation had been carried out, Trump stated that Grok is a "brilliant development."
On January 3, the United States attacked civilian and military facilities in Venezuela, captured and removed its president, Nicolas Maduro, along with his wife, Cilia Flores. On January 5, they appeared before the federal court for the Southern District of New York. They are charged with involvement in drug trafficking. Maduro and his wife did not plead guilty. The functions of head of state in Venezuela are being performed by authorized president Delcy Rodriguez, who under Maduro held the post of executive vice president of the republic.
