Turkey and Armenia complete preparations for start of direct trade
Ankara and Yerevan have completed preparations for the start of direct trade between the two countries.
This was announced by the official representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Oncu Keceli.
"In the framework of confidence-building measures adopted in the context of the normalization process with Armenia, ongoing since 2022, bureaucratic preparations for the start of direct trade between our country and Armenia have been completed as of May 11, 2026. The necessary technical and bureaucratic work on opening the common border between the two countries continues," the statement posted on the official website of the Turkish Foreign Ministry says.
