In Iran UAE called 'second Israel' due to support for Jewish state

Representative of the presidium of the Iranian parliament Alireza Salimi stated that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can be considered the "second Israel" due to their support for the Jewish state.

"The United Arab Emirates, in essence, can be considered the second Israel, since the 'military' Israel is located on the occupied [Palestinian] territories, and Abu Dhabi is viewed as the economic wing of Israel," the press service of the Iranian parliament quotes his words.

According to Salimi, "the UAE authorities do not enjoy support among their population and have long ceased to defend the interests of the country, as a result of which they are forced to rely on others and play on the side of the US and Israel."

On February 28, the US and Israel began a war against Iran. The largest Iranian cities, including Tehran, came under attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a large-scale retaliatory operation, attacking Israel. Military facilities of the US in Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia were also hit. The Iranian authorities also decided to close the Strait of Hormuz to vessels associated with the US, Israel and countries that supported the aggression against the Islamic Republic.
