Kremlin hopes that Armenia will participate in one way or another in the EAEU summit in Astana

Moscow expects that Yerevan will participate in one way or another in the upcoming events under the auspices of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in Astana.

This was stated to journalists by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov.

"If I am not mistaken, Prime Minister [of Armenia Nikol] Pashinyan will not participate due to the election campaign. But at the same time, we expect that in one way or another the Armenian side will still take part in this very important meeting, continuing its membership in the EAEU," the Kremlin representative said.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Armenia remains a full member of the EAEU while developing its relations with Europe, Peskov also reported.

"Then (during the conversation between Putin and Pashinyan - ed.), I remind you, the prime minister said that Armenia remains a full member of the EAEU, but at the same time develops its relations in other vectors of its foreign policy, in particular with Europe," Peskov told journalists.

Armenia's accession to the European Union will lead to the loss of favorable conditions for cooperation with Russia, Peskov also said.

"The European Union, of course," Peskov told journalists, answering the question of what other organizations or associations Armenia's accession could mean the loss of favorable conditions for cooperation with Russia.
