Pashinyan promises to attend next EAEU meeting

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan promised to personally attend the next EAEU meeting.

"Of course!" Pashinyan stated in response to a question from Izvestia about whether he would personally attend the next meeting of the association's participants.

At the same time, he added that long before the union summit in Astana, where Armenia was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Mger Grigoryan, he had informed his colleagues that he would be unable to attend due to the parliamentary election campaign.

Pashinyan also described yesterday's telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin as positive.

"We spoke with the president of the RF; I thanked him for the call. He called to congratulate me on my birthday. We discussed matters, and our conversation was positive," Pashinyan said.

According to him, the best step would be to lift all restrictions on exports of Armenian products to the RF. "Phytosanitary controls have always been present and should remain. Consumer health and product quality are very important," Pashinyan stated, adding that in his view the issue has now acquired a political coloring.
