US authorities eased restrictions for Iranian national team at 2026 World Cup

The US Department of Homeland Security announced the easing of restrictions on the movement of the Iranian delegation as part of the World Cup.

Representatives of the Iranian national team have repeatedly filed a complaint with the International Football Federation (FIFA) about discriminatory conditions: the team was prohibited from being on US territory outside of match days, which is why the players had to return to Mexico immediately after matches.
