Farman Gasanov: 'If we need to meet someone from the top 10 or top 15, we are ready for that'

Azerbaijani UFC fighter Farman Gasanov shared his expectations for the upcoming tournament and spoke about his preparation.

As 1news.az correspondent reports, Azerbaijani UFC fighter Farman Gasanov stated this at a press conference before the "UFC Fight Night Baku" tournament.

According to the fighter, he has no preferences when choosing opponents.

"I don't have a specific opponent I would like to fight. If we need to meet someone from the top 10 or top 15, we are ready for that. No matter who we are matched with, we will prepare for the fight with him," emphasized F. Gasanov.

Speaking about the strengths of his current opponent, Farman noted that his team conducted a detailed analysis of the opponent's style: "Our analysis shows that he prefers stand-up fighting more. But we are confident in ourselves both in grappling and in stand-up. Therefore, I believe that I will win."

Answering a question about the possible outcome of a fight involving Islam (Makhachev), the fighter urged not to make hasty predictions: "I think Islam will win. But in MMA, you can't say anything for sure in advance.

The process of preparing the opponent and other factors are also important. In any case, the fight will be interesting."

F. Gasanov also spoke about a recent meeting with other fighters from Azerbaijan, noting their fighting spirit. "Yes, we got together, talked. Everyone talked about how their preparation is going. Everyone is in good shape and feels great. I hope that all Azerbaijani fighters will win," the athlete shared.

In conclusion, Farman Gasanov added that performing in front of his home crowd has special meaning for him: "Of course, the support of our compatriots is a huge motivation for me. It is both a source of pride and at the same time a great responsibility."

It should be noted that the UFC tournament in Baku will take place on June 27 at the National Gymnastics Arena.
