Searches are being conducted in Armenia in almost all companies that are part of the Multi Group concern, owned by businessman and leader of the opposition party Prosperous Armenia Gagik Tsarukyan.
This was reported by the party's press secretary Iveta Tonoyan.
"Large-scale searches are currently being conducted in almost all companies that are part of the Multi Group concern, as well as in the apartments of the directors of these organizations," she said.
Visitors are not allowed into the building. Law enforcement officers arrived with inspections early in the morning. According to media reports, the searches (with the participation of the Armenian NSS) are related to a criminal case on money laundering. There is no official information yet.
At the Olimpavan base, owned by the Olympic Committee (headed by Tsarukyan), coaches and athletes (including foreign ones) who were at the training camp were taken out into the street. Security forces demanded that the athletes and coaches vacate the premises.
In addition, searches are underway at the Mult Rest House hotel in Tsaghkadzor. All hotel guests and vacationers were also taken out of the building.

Prosperous Armenia party member Arman Abovyan reported that Gagik Tsarukyan's house is surrounded and that some armed people in military uniforms with automatic weapons are nearby. "At the moment actions are underway; we do not yet know exactly what is happening, but we know that the house is effectively surrounded and some actions are being carried out inside the house; that is all for now," he noted.
The press secretary of the Prosperous Armenia party leader, Iveta Tonoyan, also distributed a video, noting that masked National Security Service employees are not allowing even lawyers to enter Gagik Tsarukyan's house.
According to preliminary data, searches are simultaneously underway at several enterprises of the Multi Group company as well as at the Olympic Committee base.
Several days ago the prosecutor's office sent a petition to the Central Election Commission to strip Gagik Tsarukyan of his immunity, but it has not been considered.
