On July 9, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov received a delegation visiting the country led by Director of National Armaments of the Ministry of Defense of the Italian Republic Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani.

During the meeting, Colonel General Z. Hasanov highly praised the cooperation between our countries in the defense sector based on strategic partnership. The minister emphasized that Azerbaijani-Italian relations are of particular importance in the military sphere, as well as in many other areas.
Thanking for the warm reception and hospitality, Admiral G. Ottaviani noted that mutual visits and exchange of experience are of exceptional importance. The guest expressed confidence that military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy will contribute to strengthening the defense potential of both states.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Italian Republic to our country Luca Di Gianfrancesco, the sides conducted a detailed exchange of views on cooperation in the military, military-technical, and military-educational fields and discussed a number of other topics of mutual interest.
