Argentina national team to send aid to flood-affected region of China
Argentina's national soccer team intends to send humanitarian aid to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, which was affected by a typhoon and flooding.
This is stated in the team's official channel on the social network Weibo.
"At the World Cup, we feel enormous support from Chinese fans, which is a huge incentive for the Argentina national team," the team's message notes. "Now we want to repay them for this support."
The team will send a batch of essential items, including bottled water, towels, clothing, backpacks, and other things.
The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China was severely affected in early July by flooding caused by Typhoon "Maysak." As a result of the disaster, at least 39 people died.
Argentina's national soccer team enjoys wide support in China, mainly due to the popularity of team captain Lionel Messi. On July 15, the Argentines will play in the semifinals of the world championship against the England team.
