Trump threatens to revoke licenses of TV companies that did not air his address

U.S. President Donald Trump advocated for revoking broadcast licenses from those American TV companies that refused to air his address to fellow citizens on the evening of July 16, which was mainly devoted to alleged foreign interference in national electoral processes.

The American president criticized the TV channels that decided not to broadcast his speech live. "They knew what it would be about. Because of the fact that they do not like the topic [of the address], because they know how corrupt our system is, but do not want to publicize it, they and others in the media are part of the conspiracy," the U.S. leader said.

"Such fraud should mean the revocation of their licenses [to broadcast]," Trump stated.

"There is no [even] third-world country that would have elections like ours," the head of the White House believes.

He accused China first and foremost of attempting to exert large-scale influence on the course of elections in the United States.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Embassy in Washington rejected these insinuations. As the press secretary of the diplomatic mission Liu Chang assured TASS, China has always adhered to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other states. "American elections are an internal matter of the United States. Their outcome is determined by the vote of the American people. China has never interfered and will never interfere in the course of the presidential elections of the United States," the diplomat said.
