An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 occurred in the eastern part of Turkey.
This was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
According to its data, the epicenter of the tremors was located 19 km southeast of the city of Malatya, where about 441 thousand people live. The focus was at a depth of 16 km.
No information about casualties or destruction has been received.
