Fire occurs on vessel off Oman near Ormuz

A fire broke out on a vessel off the coast of Oman near the Strait of Hormuz, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reports.

According to the agency, the incident occurred 8 nautical miles northwest of Kumzar, the cause of the fire has not yet been established, an investigation is underway.

UKMTO recommended that vessels exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
